Agnes Falls was in its full glory on Sunday, after rain drenched the state over the weekend. An hour after sunrise, rainbows played through the spray pushed up from the thundering falls, butterflies, hoverflies and dragonflies danced around the flowers, and a choir of kookaburras, magpies, willy wagtails, wrens, butcherbirds, galahs, cockies and rosellas were in full spring voice.

The nearby Mt Best weather station recorded a massive 98mm between 2 and 4 October, receiving more than a month's worth of rain in just three days. (BoM records Mt Best's October monthly median at 97.7mm). It comes after a dry September for the Toora hills, with just 45.5mm recorded, against the monthly median of 102.1mm.
