For such a small town, Toora, out east on the South Gippsland Highway, certainly held its own back in the day when it came to pubs per capita.
Shared Ground
Lynne Muir of Waratah North and Karin Ruff of Yanakie met through the Walkerville Walkers group. They are both active volunteers with Friends of the Prom, as newsletter designer and president respectively. Lynne and Karin are also members of a local circle dancing group.
Prom Coast Origins
Toora is blessed with a main street, supporting side streets and an inner pattern of connecting laneways. Four of these streets or lanes are named after members of one rather elusive family – the Sheppards.
Walking with Bart
oday’s walk is from Foster to Port Welshpool. I started in the centre of Foster. I had breakfast before leaving home, but if you haven’t there are a number of cafes and two bakeries. The trail is actually on the edge of town about 1.5 kms south along Station Road
