Prom Coast locals the Stony Six are bringing a relaxed Sunday afternoon of contemporary acoustic folk to Meeniyan Hall on 1 November, as part of a Cup Weekend concert with their good mates, Milk. The Melbourne band has recently reformed after a fifteen-year siesta, making this an extra special occasion for fans. Together the two groups will fill the hall with warm, unhurried folk for an afternoon that promises good music and good company.
Milk’s strong songs are written by band member singer and guitarist Helen Begley. They have an earthy, punchy Australian flavour with vocals by Emily Hayes, double bass by Greg Craske and guitar by Poppy Turbiak. The Stony Six play buoyant, contemporary acoustic music, delivering originals and inventive covers with warmth and playfulness. Based in South Gippy, you’re sure to recognise the lovely faces of these community musicians and their fabulous tunes.
The show starts at 2pm. Seating is allocated at tables, so let the organisers know who you'd like to sit with when you book. BYO drinks, glasses and snacks. Tickets are available at ticketebo.com.au/the-stony-six/the-stony-six-and-milk-the-band.
