Throughout June at Stockyard Gallery, we’re presenting a very special exhibition of selected works from a generous South Gippsland art collector and supporter of the arts.
When Paddy Wenborn passed away at his home in Welshpool he left 100 paintings and artworks in his collection.
Over the years, Paddy had been a loyal supporter of Stockyard Gallery, attending most exhibition openings and often choosing a favorite work of art to purchase. He enjoyed meeting the artists and followed their work and careers with great interest.

Although quiet and unassuming, Paddy was a connoisseur of good food and wine, he visited all the local galleries and loved adding to his collection of art. Eclectic in his taste, Paddy was a keen collector.
“Art matters,” said Paddy’s longterm friend Denise Kirton, who assembled the artworks, at the exhibition opening last Saturday. “It matters, and it feeds us when we see it.” Stockyard Gallery was certainly “a balm to his soul.” We raised our glasses and drank a toast to Paddy Wenborn.
Come and feed your soul at Stockyard Gallery and pay respect to a great patron of the arts in our community. Kate Smiley
