South Coast Boardriders is gearing up for another exciting season of surf sessions, competitions, camps, and community fun, welcoming groms, families, long-time members, and fresh faces to join the action.

The popular Super Grom Development Sessions return on Friday, 5 December, offering fun, relaxed sessions designed to help young surfers build confidence and improve their board skills. Sessions are open to all children, including beginners, and will run from a 5:15pm meet-up to 6:30pm finish. The club provides big foam G-boards and certified coaches, with parents encouraged to stay on the beach and jump in to help.

Participants should bring bathers, a wetsuit (the club has some pre-loved ones available), towel, sunscreen, and plenty of enthusiasm. Sessions will be held at Sandy Point, meeting at the club shipping container behind Waratah Surf Life Saving Club, on Fridays 5th, 12th, and 19th December, recommencing in late January 2026. Check the club's Facebook page for any changes.

The 2026 competition calendar is locked in, featuring events for Cadets, Juniors (U18), A and B Grades, plus girls' and women's divisions. Competition dates are 20-21 February, 20-21 March (Prom Weekend), 18-19 April, and 9-10 May as a backup date.

The club's legendary Prom Weekend is confirmed for 20-21 March 2026, featuring a surf competition, family tag event, social BBQ dinner, and prizes from Serious Surf Stuff in Inverloch. All members are welcome to surf all weekend or simply hang out on the beach. Camping is available at 33rd Avenue, Tidal River, and members are encouraged to book spots quickly as they fill fast.

Membership renewals are now open, with Surfing Australia transitioning to a new system to make sign-ups easier. Prices remain unchanged at $40 for single membership and $80 for family membership. The club will host various fundraising events throughout the season, including sausage sizzles at competitions and long weekends, a specialty surf event with live band (details coming soon), and a surfboard raffle offering the chance to win a custom board.
