There were lots of Sandy Point locals and holiday makers at the Henderson Track last Monday 16 June for the Prom Coast Pack Run. The weather was cool and calm and we were blessed with a magnificent rainbow afterwards (thanks Monica for the pic). It was a real family affair in the 3km, Bryn leading the field home in 15:02. Father-son duo Grant and Patrick crossed the line together in 15:52, while the White family made it a memorable affair with Tristan, Alex, Harriet and Ronan finishing in 16:43. Mother-daughter pair Rosie and Nina completed their 3km journey in 19:36.
The 5km race delivered a tight finish, with Cookie claiming victory in 25:44, just ahead of Lilly (26:39) and Fiona (29:45). Young Ty impressed in the 8km with a solid 43:54 effort.
The 10km event saw the leading trio all managing negative splits in the second half. Owen took the honours in 49:11, followed closely by Chris (50:02) and Daryl (55:24).
Kudos to Felicity and Caitlan who the day before ran the Parkrun Long Run (7 different 5km Parkruns run throughout the day)! Our next event is at Foster Rail Trail 8.30am on Sunday 6 July, hope to see you there. Craig Couper
