Foster’s Janine Garvey and Eric Collier have debuted at number one on the Australian country album chart, number nine on the Australian album chart overall, and number 15 on the Top 40 country albums chart with their band No Promises’ new album, Siren, for the second week in a row. For an independent duo from South Gippsland with no record label and no major industry backing, the result is, in Janine's own words, like winning the lottery.
"We thought we might just scrape into the top 50 if we were lucky," Janine said. "We could not believe our eyes when we saw that not only had we made the charts, we'd debuted at number one."
She is sending thanks out to everyone who streamed, purchased and shared the album. "Without a record label or major industry backing, this milestone was made possible by the incredible support of our local community, fans across Australia, and everyone who has helped spread the word."
