History buffs and Yanakians are in for a treat tonight (September 24), with two guest speakers set to share insights into the region's past at Yanakie Settlers Hut and Hall. The special History Night will feature Mike Heal discussing the pastoral history of Yanakie prior to Soldier Settlement, alongside Jim Whelan who will explore the early days of Wilson's Promontory from the mid-1800s to mid-1900s.
The event runs from 6pm-10pm at the historic Yanakie Settlers Hut and Hall on Millar Road, with organisers at the Yanakie Men’s Club describing it as "the next big event" that shouldn't be missed. A meal will be provided for attendees, though guests are asked to BYO.
