Corner Inlet district businesses are backing South Gippsland Hospital’s (SGH) team at this year’s Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay on Saturday 28 March and Sunday 29 March, 2026.
The Murray to Moyne event is a charity ride that begins from either Mildura or Echuca on the Murray River in northern Victoria and finishes in Port Fairy at the mouth of the Moyne River on the State’s south-west coast.
The SGH team, called the Moovers, have taken part in the Murray to Moyne every year since 2011, and last year the cyclists raised over $20,000 for upgrades to the Acute Ward. In the team are SGH staff and volunteers, Foster Medical Centre representatives, and members of the Corner Inlet district community.
This year the Moovers have again asked for sponsorship from local businesses.
“We’ve had great support from businesses over the years and we are hopeful they can help out again. Even though training is hard work, we see that our efforts are rewarded with such generous donations for our hospital,” Moovers team member Mick said.
The fundraising effort started last week, and so far, Foster Service Centre, Foster Tyre Power, Qube Energy, Evans Petroleum, Foster Cellarbrations, and Johnoelec have chipped donations ranging from $1000 to $4000, earning major sponsor titles and their logos are now on display on the corner of Jones Street and Station Road.

The Moovers have also organised a mega wood raffle.
“Craig [one of the Moovers] has been busy on the chain saw for quite some time, and the raffle is now on. We see this initiative as really adding to the fundraising cause.” fellow cyclist Deb said.
Tickets are $10 each and you can win either a 10-tonne load, tandem trailer load or a Ute load of wood! Delivery is included between Woodside and Loch.
SGH CEO Paul Greenhalgh said both the Hospital and the Moovers appreciate the generosity of all sponsors, large and small and encourage people to get a raffle ticket please.
“This year’s proceeds will go towards Medical Equipment for the benefit of our patients” he said.
“We are so grateful for everyone riding and supporting the team to raise money and we’d like to thank previous, current and potential sponsors in getting behind this year’s team.”
