Last year the Victorian Government committed $23 million to provide free Pads & Tampons in public spaces across the State, and the South Gippsland Hospital Community Health Centre is now home to a Pads & Tampons vending machine.
Anyone needing this service can simply pop in Monday to Friday during business hours and follow the signs to the all-abilities toilet. Instructions are displayed at the vending machine on how to access the items required. There are regular or super 2 pack pads and regular or super 2 or 6 pack tampons available.
CEO Paul Greenhalgh states “we were approached to participate in the roll out of the vending machines and we did not hesitate to get involved. We hope that the service is used by those in need.”
