15 November will see the beloved Fishy Stories Festival return to Fish Creek for a one-day celebration of storytelling magic. Bringing together a world of stories and creativity for children and families, the festival features acclaimed authors, such as Alison Lester, Ben and Andrew from the Real Pigeons and the always lively Andrea Rowe.

This year’s special performance will see Australia’s favourite bubble man, Dr Hubble, amaze and delight audiences with his extraordinary bubble creations. This is the festival’s only ticketed event, Dr Hubble will be in the hall at 12.30pm and tickets are available through https://www.trybooking.com/DGHKV

Entries to the Fishy Stories Writing Challenge have closed, and the 20 selected stories are being brought to life by the talented team from FAMDA. The judging panel has been overwhelmed by the depth of young talent across our communities and wider Victoria. There are two performances on the day at 10.45 & 2.00 pm, with titles including ‘The Cruellest Kind of Quiet’, ‘Flashbacks’, and ‘Fishing Adventures Around Australia!’ Picture Stories will be on display all day.

A schedule of free workshops runs all day! Joining Alison Lester, the Real Pigeons and Andrea Rowe (who is launching her new book), are award-winning creators Jess Racklyeft, Vikki Connoley, Jane Godwin and Anna Walker. The program has a session for every age group and interest area.

Box Wars is also back, and festival goers can join in the art of creative destruction where imagination meets cardboard mayhem. Participants are asked to purchase a $5.00 Raffle ticket to be a part of this fun. Myli Libraries brings an exciting program of activities along with the My Stories tent. The Invy Horn Jam Band will also be on hand to double the fun.
