Sandy Point is hosting its first ever outdoor music event this April, with four local bands set to take over the Community Centre lawn for what promises to be a memorable night of bangin' tunes. Blast on the Grass runs from 4pm to 9.30pm on Saturday 11 April, and features an impressive lineup of Prom Coast talent across an eclectic mix of styles.

Fish Creek five-piece Here Be Giants bring their stoner rock sound after cutting their teeth in local pubs and Melbourne venues since forming in 2025. Drew Benny & Mapes are a trio born from the reunion of teachers and students in South Gippsland, blending originals and covers with a shared love of melody, groove and live interaction. The Three Amigos, with Nick Carver on bass, the legendary Archie Leggett on guitar and Will Edwards on drums, are a spontaneous power trio delivering psychedelic blues, rock and soul, playing purely for the joy of it. And rounding out the night is the incomparable Jungle Jim Smith, the one-man blues and rock force of nature who has lifted the roof at Sandy Point more times than anyone can count.

It's BYO food and drinks, with a BBQ run by the Sandy Point Men's Shed also on site.

Tickets are $20 online or $30 on the door. Children under 12 are free. More info at https://www.sandypointmusic.com/events/blast-on-the-grass
