The young Stingrays dominated on a stunning Sunday morning at Foster, with strong crowd support driving an emphatic victory. Isaac and Jobe set the early tone, while Annabelle and Cian delivered excellent kicks into the forward 50. Cian opened the scoring from a brilliant Isaac ruck tap, with Jobe and Hunter adding minors in the first quarter.
The second quarter saw continued dominance as Kye capitalised on Bray's precise delivery, while Mack broke through defense for a brilliant goal. Jobe impressed with two well-deserved goals, supported by Will K's powerful kicking and Leo-Nate combinations.
Positional changes in the third quarter gave fresh opportunities, with Jobe adding another fantastic goal while Isaac, Cian and Luke J formed a strong defensive wall. The final term featured extensive rotations, with Nate finding space, Jed impressing in the ruck, and Luke J finishing with a slick handball under pressure.
Under 12's vs Newborough - Round 7
Newborough 3.1.19 defeated Corner Inlet 2.4.16
A heartbreaking narrow loss in what was described as a "cracker of a morning" in Foster. Captain Sam J led with hard running and tackling, while Colt earned a classic hard ball get. The Stingrays' marking was exceptional throughout, with Boydy, Tate, Ryan and Kai taking clean grabs.
Max opened the scoring with a behind, followed by Billy and Tate adding minors before Crispy broke the goal drought. The third quarter saw brilliant teamwork as Colt drove forward to Crispy, who kicked to James W, then to Max for a ripper goal.
The final quarter was electric with hearts in mouths. Despite Colt "The Enforcer's" incredible tackling and leadership, Newborough managed a late goal to snatch victory.
Coaches praised the team's performance without key players, highlighting career-best games from Rory, Kai, Boydy and Alexander. The strong marking and tackling game promises future success - heads held high after a tremendous team effort.
Under 14's vs Newborough - Round 7
Corner Inlet 10.8.68 defeated Newborough 4.2.26
Big man Koby's return energized the under 14s from the start. Abbey's trademark hard running earned early free kicks, while Porter's harassment led to the first score. Lachie dominated with outstanding form, kicking goals on the run including a spectacular hat-trick in the second quarter.
Koby's ruck dominance and long kicking perfectly complemented Josh's endless running and Lachie's goal-scoring prowess. The combination proved unstoppable as Lachie accumulated an incredible eight goals for the match.
Strong defensive work from Will, Damo, Xav, Fred and Stu kept Newborough to minimal scoring, while Isaac impressed with tackle pressure earning crucial free kicks. Abbey channeled her "inner Dusty Martin" with brilliant don't argues throughout.
Coach Troy would be most proud of the strong marking, running and tackling displayed. Despite missing key teammates Koop and Slade, everyone stepped up in a wonderful team effort. Special mention to Lachie for his eight-goal haul after being denied this achievement earlier in the season.
ROUND 10
Under 10's vs Mirboo North - Round 8
Corner Inlet 6.5.41 defeated Mirboo North 3.1.19

An early start at Foster saw the buzzing Stingrays deliver a cracking performance. Captain Kayson led proudly while Isaac dominated the ruck, with clean taps to Cian sparking immediate action. Bray and Jobe's trademark speed pushed into attack, with Jobe weaving through for the opener and Kye adding a boundary snap.
The second quarter continued the momentum with brilliant midfield work from Isaac, Jobe, Bray and Cian. Kayson and Tex gathered handy touches while Frankie and Riley built a solid wall. Jobe slotted another goal as the team controlled proceedings.
Halftime changes saw Mack excel in the ruck with Leo working hard up forward for a deserved goal. Kye dominated at full forward with strong marks and two more majors.
Exceptional sportsmanship was displayed when Jed, Jobe and Louis flipped colors to help Mirboo North even numbers. Louis deserves special mention for twice helping the opposition - true junior football spirit from these special kids.
Under 12's vs Mirboo North - Round 8
Corner Inlet 7.5.47 defeated Mirboo North 4.2.26

Smiles all around as Tys returned after a lengthy sideline spell. Captain Colt's inspirational pressure started proceedings, with Tate's trustworthy hands finding Tys, back to Tate, then Max for a Goal of the Year contender from deep in the pocket.
Strong defensive work from Diddy at full back made crucial goal-saving marks, supported beautifully by Rory. The smooth-running Sam J and James W worked expertly, setting up Tys for a ripper goal and later a silky Goal of the Year contender.
The tight third quarter saw excellent teamwork from Boydy, Diddy and James A in defense. Billy's inspiring chase-down tackle and Alexander's awesome smother created crucial turnovers.
The final quarter delivered the goods with clear instructions to "Run it Out" and celebrate goals. Max spun for his third, while pressure from Kelly and Billy allowed Harley a goal with fantastic celebrations following.
Under 14's vs Mirboo North - Round 8
Mirboo North 7.4.46 defeated Corner Inlet 4.7.31

The evolving under 14s welcomed Tyler back and were delighted to have Bryn as teammate again. Bryn immediately marked at half forward while Will earned early free kicks. Abbey's textbook tackling technique was rewarded with Holding the Ball decisions, setting up Lachie's 25th goal of the season.
Josh proved unstoppable with "more bounces than a trampoline," combining brilliantly with Lachie throughout. Tyler's 50-meter penalty goal and subsequent lovely goal showed great reward for effort, while Zac S and Josh combined effectively.
Strong individual efforts included Abbey's perfectly timed "Don't Argue" and Nate's four-bounce run resulting in a spectacular falcon tackle. Despite excellent teamwork from Damo, Lachie and others, goal-kicking accuracy proved the difference.
The resilient group continues playing with different lineups weekly, often in new roles. Coach noted plenty of positives and learnings from this encounter. While Mirboo North ran away with victory, the determination and efforts of these adaptable kids can never be denied.
