Senior/Reserve Football

The players are excited for the upcoming season, and we have seen excellent numbers during pre-season training thus far. We have successfully added depth to our midfield and strengthened our defense with several key additions for 2026. We also have a strong group of young players across both the seniors and reserves who have shown great development over the last 18 months, that will provide us with solid depth throughout the year.

The senior team is eager to make amends for last year’s finals exit. We recognise that our performance that day was below our best, and the players are hungry to improve and understand that we need to perform to our best every game. The reserves are also determined to go one step further after three years of preliminary finals heartbreak. This has sent a strong desire across the entire playing group to continue working hard and return in good condition, which they have done.

With a couple of practice games locked in, we cannot wait for the season to begin and look forward to facing Newborough at home in round one.

Youth Girls’ Football

The U18 Youth Girls are returning for their second year at the MDUNFC. After a successful 2025 season, where they finished third in the Division 1 Gippsland League, the team is looking forward to another successful year in 2026. With eight top age players moving on to the senior ranks, there are a number of new recruits keen to cement their place in the team.

Senior Women's Football

We’re really looking forward to the season ahead and seeing the continued growth of our club, Meeniyan Football Netball Club, with the introduction of a Senior Women’s Football Team. We are currently seeking senior women players to join us. If you’re interested in being part of this exciting new chapter, please contact Kathy on 0413 604 998. Netball

The upcoming netball season at MDU is shaping up to be an exciting and highly competitive one, with great numbers across both our junior and senior programs setting a strong foundation for success. We’re thrilled to have retained the core of our A Grade side, with the very exciting addition of Mish Clarke from Moe adding extra depth and experience at the top level. There’s a real buzz around the club at how competitive MDU will be from the under 13’s right through to A Grade.

Adding to this momentum is the introduction of new coaching talent, with Sheree Livingstone taking the reins of D Grade, Hayley Steer leading C Grade, and Alex Turner coaching B Grade, bringing fresh energy, knowledge and direction across the program as we head into the 2026 season ahead.
