With the Goalkeeper
MDU and Tarwin fought it to a nailbaiting draw in the final game of the home and away season, ending the last quarter at 39 goals each, but the result wasn’t enough to get the fighting Sharks through to the finals. Stony Creek went down by two in another fierce contest against Morwell East, in what was their last game of the 2025 season. The only other Prom Coast teams to contest a match in Round 18 were the old rivals - Foster and Fish Creek - and it was the Kangaroos who took the points this time, 31-37, dealing the Tigers their only loss of the season at exactly the right end of the year. They will meet again in the first semi-final on 30 August, when the mighty Tigers will surely be roaring for revenge.
The first elimination final on 23 August saw a mighty Pie v Pie match up and a chance to progress to the semis on 31 August. Unfortunately for Toora, it was Yinnar who took home the win, 48-37, and who will face MDU next week. The Dees were the winners of the second elimination final against Mirboo North, with an emphatic 120-99 point victory.
